It's so important to exercise and it's a big part of
being healthy but it's also really important that you enjoy it.
I used to take dance classes but I decided to quit two years ago,
instead I bought a gym membership card. When I didn't feel like
going to dance class, I still had to go because otherwise I would have
missed out of the dance routine. But when you have a gym membership card
you can go whenever you want to and let's face it, that could lead to you never
going to the gym. That's why I'm giving you 5 tips on how you can stay
motivated to go to the gym and exercise!
Set a Goal
Set a goal for yourself and reward
yourself when you reach that goal! Remember
to make your goals realistic and not to drastic, take
one step at a time. If you want for example to be
able to run 10 kilometers, start by setting yourself
smaller goals that will lead to that big goal.
Change things up a bit
Don't always do the same exercises, you will
get bored after a while and eventually give up.
You can for example do cardio two days a week
and lift weights one day a week, whatever works for you.
Music
I can't exercise without my music, it makes
it ten times more fun to exercise with music.
Listen to upbeat music, music that makes you
want to move! Just remember to change up
your playlist once in a while. My current favorite
songs to workout are:
American Boy - Estelle & Kanye
Flawless Remix - Beyoncé & Nicki Minaj
Euphoria - Loreen
Womanizer - Britney Spears
Eat right & Healthy
It makes so much difference if you eat right
before and after gym and also a great tip is to
never go to the gym when you are hungry or right
after you've eaten. It's said to be good for you to
eat a banana or porridge before you exercise.
Take Days Off
Don't try to go to the gym or exercise everyday you don't
want to overtrain. It is really important to let your body rest
and recharge your batteries. Do something that you love on
your rest days, watch your favorite movie, eat ice-cream, read
a book, anything! Not only are the rest days important for your
physical health but also your mental health.
