Lately #2

Breakfast at Tiffanys, big comfy sweaters & healthy sweets.
sounds good doesn't it?

My favorite Audrey Hepburn film, along with
Roman Holiday. I can watch Breakfast at Tiffany's
over and over again. I always watch something on netflix
before I fall asleep and this is the movie I watched last week.
It's so sweet and funny and Audrey Hepburn looks so pretty!

Yup, it has been reeeal cold lately, so I've been
living in my big comfy sweater. The best feeling
in the world is when you come home from school, take off
your uncomfortable clothes and get in your sweats, aaaaah!
I love making healthy sweets, it's so easy!
This is just bunch of nuts, dates and peanut butter.
Soooo goood

That's it, hope you liked this post :)

How to Stay Motivated to Exercise

It's so important to exercise and it's a big part of
being healthy but it's also really important that you enjoy it.
I used to take dance classes but I decided to quit two years ago,
instead I bought a gym membership card. When I didn't feel like
going to dance class, I still had to go because otherwise I would have
missed out of the dance routine. But when you have a gym membership card
you can go whenever you want to and let's face it, that could lead to you never
going to the gym. That's why I'm giving you 5 tips on how you can stay
motivated to go to the gym and exercise!

Set a Goal
Set a goal for yourself and reward
yourself when you reach that goal! Remember
to make your goals realistic and not to drastic, take
one step at a time. If you want for example to be
able to run 10 kilometers, start by setting yourself
smaller goals that will lead to that big goal.

Change things up a bit
Don't always do the same exercises, you will
get bored after a while and eventually give up.
You can for example do cardio two days a week
and lift weights one day a week, whatever works for you.

Music
I can't exercise without my music, it makes
it ten times more fun to exercise with music.
Listen to upbeat music, music that makes you
want to move! Just remember to change up
your playlist once in a while. My current favorite
 songs to workout are:
American Boy - Estelle & Kanye
Flawless Remix - Beyoncé & Nicki Minaj
Euphoria - Loreen
Womanizer - Britney Spears

Eat right & Healthy
It makes so much difference if you eat right
before and after gym and also a great tip is to
never go to the gym when you are hungry or right
after you've eaten. It's said to be good for you to
eat a banana or porridge before you exercise.

Take Days Off
Don't try to go to the gym or exercise everyday you don't
want to overtrain. It is really important to let your body rest
and recharge your batteries. Do something that you love on
your rest days, watch your favorite movie, eat ice-cream, read
a book, anything! Not only are the rest days important for your
physical health but also your mental health.

January Favorties

There are sooo many new things that I've been loving this January that it
was almost impossible to choose. Somehow I managed to stick to only five
products and I have used them almost everyday this month.
The Naked 2 Palette
Let me tell yah, after I got this palette I've used almost
nothing else on my eyes. The colors are so beautiful and they
all go so well together. They are also beautifully pigmented and
if you are wearing a good eye primer, your eyeshadow will stay on
all day or all night.
Naked Flushed in Strip
It didn't take a long time for me to buy the Naked flushed after I got
the Naked 2 palette. It's a great palette containing a bronzer, highlighter
and blush. The colors are beautiful and pigmented, plus it's really handy
when you are travelling or on the go and you can just take the palette instead
of taking a bunch of products. The only thing I don't like about the palette is
that I think that the highlighter could be better. It's good but not good enough for
urban decay and I think the Mary-Lou Manizer by the balm is so much better.
Benefit they're Real Mascara
I only have the miniature version of this mascara but
oh my god! This is way far the best mascara I've ever
tried. I can't believe I waited this long to try it. It makes your
lashes look so  long and thick and my own mother asked
me if I was wearing fake eyelashes when I was wearing this mascara!
If that doesn't convince you to try this mascara, I don't know what will.
The Body Shop Aloe Soothing Night Cream
This moisturizer is really good if you have dry
skin. My skin has been really dry lately so I've also
been using this in the mornings before I do my makeup.
It's also really good for sensitive skin and it smells nicely.
The Body Shop Camomile Silky Cleansing Oil
After Amelia Liana featured this cleansing oil in her 2014
favorites video, I had to have it. It removes all of your makeup so easily
and it even works on waterproof makeup. It leaves your skin really
soft and moisturized. If you are looking for a good makeup remover, you'll
have to try this one.

Lately #1

I've been meaning to do more lifestyle posts,
so I thought I would tell you guys what I've been
doing lately. I met some friends a couple of weeks ago which
was really nice, I hadn't seen them for a while and we
talked until really late that night! Here is the makeup look
I was wearing that night (inspired by Kylie Jenner of course)

Thank you Netflix! I've been watching the first season
of friends this week on Netflix. I've seen all the episodes
sooo many times but I haven't seen the first two seasons
not nearly as often as the others. It's so nice to sit down
for a few minuets watch one episode, while drinking a
cup of coffee or tea.
I've been trying to eat healthier and more fruit.
I find the easiest way to eat a lot of fruit is to
make smoothies. My favorite smoothies are the
ones that have avocado and ginger. For this smoothie I
used an apple, orange, lemon, avocado and a little bit
of ginger.

Thanks for reading!

My favorite makeup brushes (Real Techniques) Part 2 - eyes

Here it is, the second part of my favorite makeup brushes.
Here are all my favorite and best eye-makeup brushes.

Deluxe Crease Brush
This brush is great for highlighting.
I use it to highlight my brow bone and
even to highlight my cheekbones. It's also
good for powdering the under-eye area.

Base Shadow Brush
I looove this brush! It's flat and
a bit pointy so it's really easy to do the crease
and it's almost impossible to screw it up. You
can even use it as a blending brush.
The brush is a base shadow brush  but
it doesn't take as much product as I would expect
a base shadow brush to do.

Shading brush
Like almost all the other brushes,
I don't use them as the name suggests how
I should use them, sooo I use this one for the base.
It takes up a lot a product and therefore is the brush perfect
for setting the base eyeshadow.

Brow Brush
This brush is so good for doing your eyebrows.
It's not too soft and just the perfect shape.
The size of the brush is just right for my eyebrows
so i can do them in no time!

That's it for my favorite makeup brushes,
I hope you liked it!

My favorite makeup brushes (Real Techniques) Part 1 - Base

Good makeup brushes are a big part of making your makeup look flawless.
It's really difficult to get a natural makeup look using bad quality makeup
brushes. I thought I would share with you guys my favorite makeup brushes.
You might notice that all of my favorite makeup brushes are from
Real Techniques, they are just such good quality and they are affordable.
.This will topic will be divided into two blog posts, in this post I'm writing about
the brushes I use for the base and for part 2 I will write about the eye makeup
brushes.

Powder Brush
I use this brush for my powder (obviously)
The brush is super soft so it doesn't take to
much product at once. It's also really big
so it takes literally 5 seconds to apply the
powder on your face. Also, if I but too much
bronzer or blush I just use this brush to get some of the
product off.

Expert Face Brush
I use this brush for my foundation. With a good
foundation, the brush makes it look very natural
and it's also really easy to build up your foundation
using this brush. You can also use it to
blend your concealer.

Blush Brush
Not only my favorite brush but also my most used.
I actually use it a lot more often to apply bronzer than blush.
The brush picks just the right amount of bronzer, so you
don't have to spend a lot of time swirling your brush in the product
until you get the right amount, but it also doesn't take too much
product so you will look like an oompa loompa.

Let me know what makeup brushes are your favorite!

Kylie Jenner inspired makeup look

Yes, I'm one of those people who is obsessed with Kylie Jenner's makeup look,
I mean, her makeup looks flawless! So i thought I would show you guys my makeup look
inspired by Kylie.

After applying foundation and concealer, I used five makeup products to get her signature look.

1 - Eyebrows
I didn't do much other than filling my in my eyebrows to get her eyebrow look. I used the darker color of the Brow & Liner Kit in 01 from the Body Shop

2- Bronzer
To get Kylie's sun-kissed look, I used my favorite bronzer Bahama mama from the balm

3 - Eyeshadow
From my Naked 2 palette, I used foxy all over my eyelid - a bright highlighting shade, and then tease in the crease - a beautiful brown/purple shade.

4 - eyelashes
To get Kylie's long lushious lashes I used they're real mascara from benefit.

5 - lips
Finaly for the most important part to get Kylies signature look, the lips. I recently bought the color drama intense velvet lip pencil in 630 nude perfection, which I absoloutely love! It's a nude brownish color, perfect to finish off the look.

Happy New Year!

Yes it has been a while since my last post, I've been on a
little (okay, maybe a bit longer than just a little) blogger break.
The truth is, I really missed blogging so I have decided to start
blogging again! I'm going to try change things up a bit, add more
lifestyle posts and more makeup looks.

Speaking of makeup looks, here is how I did my makeup for new
years eve. I used the Naked 2 palette from Urban Decay, which I
absolutely adore! You will definitely be seeing a lot of makeup
looks featuring my Naked 2 palette in the future.

I hope you all had a great new years eve
and that 2015 will be a great year for you!

May Favorites

Heeellooooo June!
Oh how I've missed you.
Before we get all excited about June,
I want to show you guys my May Favorites.
So here they are!

Beyoncé Heat The Mrs.Carter Show World Tour Perfume
Queen Bee has done it again!
She has made yet another perfume but this is
not the newest one. I love her perfumes but I have never
owned one until this May when I got it for my birthday.
It smells soooo good. It's fresh, light and reminds me of summer
on the beach.

Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer
It's no secret that this is my favorite concealer
ever. You have probably seen this concealer before in
my other posts. I was looking for a concealer
that didn't look cakey on my dry skin but could still conceal my
very dark circles and I found this one. Not only is it really, really good
but it's also cheap! You should definitely try this one if you are looking
for a good, cheap concealer.

17 Blusher in China Pink
I've had this blush for a while but it's still
available at boots (the packaging is a bit different though).
It's such a beautiful color and
it's perfect for a natural summer makeup look.

HD Nailpolish in Sweet Cosmopolitan
I have been wearing this color a lot this May
(I'm even wearing it right now as I'm typing this post)
It's a beautiful bright peachy shade, perfect for summer.

Necklace from SIX
I got this necklace for my birthday and it's so
pretty. It goes with so many outfits and I love the mixture of
mint and gold. You should definitely check out the jewelry in
SIX if you have a store near you, the jewelry is so pretty!

Reading

I love reading but unfortunately I don't read a lot.
When I was little I loved to read before I went to sleep.
Nowadays we (or at least I) find it so hard to concentrate on reading
because there are so many things that around us that can disturb you, such as your phone,
tablet or computer. When I go to bed, instead of reading a book like I always
did when I was little, I rather watch a TV-show.

I really missed reading so I decided
to make a little space which is perfect for reading. I don't take any electronics with me
when I'm reading a book so nothing will disturb me. I also find reading
so relaxing and it's always good if you can take a little break from your electronics.

As you can see from this picture I have been loving John Green
I have read The Fault in Our Stars, Abundance of Katherines and
at the moment I'm reading Looking for Alaska. I'm definitely going
to read all of his books, they are so good!

This is it for my post today!

Breakfast

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day.
I can't go out of the house without eating breakfast.
Usually I'll just have a porridge or cheerios but now
since school has finished, I have more time to make
something really good and healthy.
This one is my favorite at the moment!
A toast witch avocado and egg.
So easy to make, it takes about 15 minuets. I wouldn't
normally make this before school because I don't have a lot
of time but I often make it on weekends.
All you need is bread, half an avocado and 1 egg.
This recipe was inspired by Niomi Smart on youtube, you can watch
her video here.
I actually had this for breakfast this morning
and it's really good and it takes you like 3 minuets
to make it. All you need are some berries, Greek yogurt and granola.
I used frozen blueberries but it's probably better to use fresh berries.
After I eat breakfast I usually get hungry again after one hour or so
but not after this I don't get hungry again until noon, so that's a big plus
for me :)

Hope you liked this post!

My Notebooks

Hi, I'm Fjóla and I'm a notebook-aholic.
I love notebooks and I don't buy a notebook when I
need one, I buy one when I see one really cute and then
I'll decide what to do with it. Yeah, it's true.
So for this post I thought it would be fun if I would show
you my notebooks that I use the most and what I use them for.
This notebook is my blogger notebook. I write down ideas for a blog post
and how many visitors I get on my blog and so on. It's really handy
to have a notebook for your blog because when you have no idea what
to write about you can just look for an idea in your notebook.
I got this notebook from Sostrene Grene.

Okay, this is my seccond blogger notebook. Yes, I have two blogger
notebooks. This one is just a lot smaller so it's handier to carry around
in your bag. I use this one for writing down ideas. I also got
this notebook from Sostrene Grene, if you have a store near
you, you should definitely check out their notebooks. They have
some really cute ones.
This is my planner, which I use everyday. It helps me keep
track on all my activites and important things, like tests and
doctors apointments, birthdays and more.
The planner shows every week by its self so you'll
always know what's happening every week. I got this planner from HEMA
in Netherlands (I love the stationary there!)
The last notebook I have is my to-do list book. I write down
all kinds of lists, like what I want to read, grocery list, what
I have to do that day and so on. It's so handy to have because you
are much more likely to do things if you make a list.
This notebook is also from Sostrene Grene (surprise, surprise!)
That's it for this post, hope you liked it!

April Favorites

Finally! May is here, my favorite month because
A - May is my birthday month,
B - It's finally getting a little bit warmer outside,
C - It's almost summer!
So here are my favorites for this month.

Nivea Tinted Moisturizing Day Care
I have used this moisturizer a lot this month,
mostly on weekends when I want to lay off the makeup
a bit and keep things natural. You might be wondering
why I'm using a tinted moisturizer instead of BB or CC cream
and the reason is simple, I just needed something a bit more
moisturizing than a BB or CC cream.

Batiste Dry Shampoo
I'm pretty sure this is not the first time I have
included the Batiste Dry Shampoo in my favorites
but since I cut my hair short I have been using it
a lot to add volume to my hair.

Lee Stafford Sea Salt Spray
I have owned this sea salt spray for a while
but I didn't really use it. When I cut my hair I started
using it again and I really liked it. I spray it in my hair
in the mornings and it gives my hair soft waves, which
I really like.

H&M Lip Pen
I have used this lip pen so much this month!
It reminds me of summer and the color
is just beautiful. It's a buttery texture so it won't leave
your lips dry. It's not quite a lipgloss but it's not a lipstick
either, it's somewhere in the middle and I have a feeling
I will be using this lip pen a lot this summer.

The Body Shop Shea Beautifying Oil
If you haven't tried this oil from the body shop
you are missing out on a lot, let me tell yah!
I was watching Essie Button on youtube and she
was saying how much she loved this oil so
I decided to give it a go. I'm really glad I did
because it's amazing. There are like four or five
smells you can choose from but I chose the Shea one, it
smells so good and luxurious. It says on the bottle that you
can use the oil on your body, face and hair. I use it instead of
a body lotion. It leaves your skin soooo soft and you don't have to
wait until it sinks into your skin. It's just so much better than body butters!
You have to give this one a go.

My makeup look for spring

Nivea Tinted Moisturizer, Loreal True Match Powder, Rimmel Natural Bronzer,
H&M Highlighter, Etos Baked Blush, NYX Eyebrow Cake Powder,
Bourjois Volume Clubbing Ultra Black Mascara, H&M Lip Pencil

My makeup rutine has chagned a bit now since it's getting a bit warmer
and brighter outside. Instead of wearing foundation I wear a tinted moisturizer
from Nivea, it has SPF 8 and it looks really natural on your skin.
After applying the moisturizer apply my true match powder from Loreal so my makeup
will last a bit longer. To get a sunny glow I use the natural bronzer from rimmel and a highlighter
from h&m. To make my face more alive and fresher I use a baked blush from etos, a beautiful bright
pink color. Okay, you cannot forget to do your eyebrows, it makes all the difference! My favorite eyebrow product is the eyebrow cake powder from NYX. Then I apply my favorite mascara which is the bourjois volume clubbing ultra black mascara. The last product I use is a lip pencil from h&m,
the color is amazing, bright (almost barbie) pink with a bit of purple in it and
makes this look perfect for spring or summer!

Have a drink!

If you have been reading my blog lately,
you'll know that I try to eat healthy and overall just
live a healthy life. It is said that you should drink about two liters
of water everyday, but sometimes you just forget or you are just
tired of drinking boring plain water. I have found that if I put lemon, lime or some
other fruits or fruit in my water, it is much more likely that I'll drink my 2 liters of water.
You can put anything you like in your water, just something you have in your kitchen.
You can for example use lemon, lime, oranges, mint or ginger.
This time I used a half of lime and I also put some ginger in it
for a little extra something and it tasted so much better than regular water!

Lately #3

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day.
I don't have much appetite in the morning but I always
eat something, otherwise I will just starve to death!
Lately I have been eating porridge for breakfast, it's
a great way to start your day. If you want to be extra
healthy, try putting some flax seeds, goji berries, coconut flakes
and mulberries. It's delicious and so so so healthy, what makes
my breakfast even better is a big glass of orange juice!

Who else got the latest issue of Company, featuring Zoella?
Of course I got myself a copy since Zoella is one of my
favorite Youtubers!

Okay, this game is so addicting!
You know what I'm talking about if you
have tried it, it's no turning back when you try it.
I still haven't won it, but I know I will! (I promise
this game is not making me crazy, I think)
If you are bored of candy crush, try this one, it's called
2048 by the way.

March Favorites

I am sooo late with this post! I've been meaning to do this post for days.
You know how it is when you have to do something but you never give yourself
time to do it, if you know what I mean haha. Anyways here are my March favorites.

John Frieda sheer blonde shampoo & conditioner
This has been my go to shampoo and conditioner this month. It leaves your hair so soft and smelling so good. I don't recommend using it if you have dark hair though, your hair might turn a bit orange. I love that the shampoo and conditioner don't leave my hair frizzy or heavy. If you haven't tried any of the John Frieda
hair products, you are missing a lot.

Nip+Fab Glucolic Scrub Fix
I needed a good face scrub for mah face and I was so impressed by my Nip+Fab body butter that I though that I would give this one a try. I am really glad I did because it is such a good face scrub. First of all it smells ah-mazing, like candy. It leaves your face so refreshing and smooth and you really feel like you are getting all the dirt out of your face. I don't recommend using it every day, it might not be good for your skin.

RealTechniques Blush Brus
I've had this one for a while now but lately I've been loving wearing blushes and this is my absolute favorite brush to use. The blush applies so nicely, evenly and it looks so natural.

NYX Eyebrow Cake Powder
I think I have never mentioned this brow powder before, which is weird because I use it EVERYDAY! It is so amazing, it has two shades of brown and a gel but I never use the gel because luckily, I feel I don't have to because my eyebrows pretty much stay the same all day long. I feel my eyebrows look really natural if I use both shades, so I like to mix them together and it looks really great.

These are my March favorites!

Rimmel Stay Matte Foundation

I have been using the Rimmel Stay Matte Foundation for three months now so I thought it was time for a review on this baby! If you have seen my February favorites you'll know that I love this foundation.
Lately my skin has been a bit uneven and I needed a foundation that I could use everyday so it had to be light and natural since I'm not very fond of heavy everyday makeup.
The foundation has a medium coverage and a small amount goes a long way so I wont have to buy a new one for a long time. It looks natural and it evens out my skin. This foundation is also great for a long school or workday because it still looks good after 8 hours. There is one thing you should now though, it can look a bit cakey if you are not careful, just be sure that you have moisturize your face before applying the foundation. One time I had a few dry patches on my skin and you could totally see it through the foundation, so learn from my mistakes ladies and don't use the foundation when your skin is dry.

This is how the foundation looks like on maah face.
It looks normal on pictures which is really important!
Overall I really love this foundation and if you are looking for a new foundation
you should definitely try this one!

This Week (#11)

Hello my lovely readers!
I mentioned in my last post that I wanted to do more
lifestyle posts, so I decided to do one every week.
They will be up on Sundays or Mondays but on other days
my posts will be either about makeup or fashion.

This is my favorite mug ever! Before I go to bed
a cup of tea is a must. I don't know what it is about tea but there is just
something so relaxing having a cup of tea before bed.
My favorite tea before I go to bed is
Sleepy time from Celestial seasonings.
My hands have been pretty dry lately so I always
have a hand cream next to my bed. My favorite one is from
L'Occitane, it works wonders!

Lately I have been trying to be healthier.
I tried the mango guava vitamin water this
week and it's soooo good and refreshing.

Here's a little preview from my next post.
My favorite foundation right now is this one from Rimmel
and I've been using it everyday this week but more
on that later ;)

I hope you enjoyed this post!

Lunch

Hello lovely readers!
Recently I have been wanting to put more lifestyle posts
on my blog, because I love reading those kind of posts on other blogs.
In my lifestyle posts will probably be more photos than text, I don't want to bore
you to death by telling you every little detail about my life.

The other day I came home early so I decided to make myself a good lunch.
I want to give myself more time to make healthy snacks, lunches and all that jazz.
It's just so important to eat healthy, you'll sleep better, you'll get more energy and you'll
just feel better!
Sooo here are the ingredients that I used in my pasta salad.
-Pasta
-Cabbage
-Hard boiled egg
-Tomatoes
-Salad dressing

...and of course while I ate my delicious salad I watched one
of my favorite TV-show, Grey's Anatomy!
